The M1 Abrams RL shift knob is compatible with cars that use a reverse lock mechanism which slides up in to the shift knob to engage reverse.
The enlarged opening at the base of the shift knob can accomodate reverse locks up to 15/16" (0.9375") in diameter and a vertical travel of up to 3/4" (0.75").
This shift knob proudly bears the name of the US military's main battle tank, and is also a force to be reckoned with.
